SeqWeb is a web browser interface to GCG.

GSAF administers and supports a SeqWeb Version 2.1 server.

[edit] Browser Not Supported

If you're getting a brower not supported error you might want to use FireFox, and install the User Agent Switcher Add-on. Then under Tools tell Firefox to report itself as Netscape. Now SeqWeb works.

You may hit this error when trying to run a restriction map. This problem was discovered in RT#94. The solution is ugly and should not be necessary. One time:

  • Install FireFox
  • Install FireFox plugin: User Agent Switcher

Then every time you want to run a restriction map:

  • Open Firefox, hit the SeqWeb URL
  • Type in your username and password. You will be told your browser is not supported.
  • Click Tools | User Agent Switcher, and switch to Netscape 4.8.
  • Hit reload.
  • SeqWeb will load. Click the restriction map link. Your report should now run OK.

[edit] Java Error

I discovered that some times even after using the Agent Switcher I was unable to run seqweb and it gave me a java error. Here is what can be done to overcome that issue

  • go to control panel->Java->Network Setting
  • choose the "Direct Connection" radio button instead of the "Use Browser setting", which is th default--DbastolaG 10:27, 24 December 2007 (CST)
